According to the dietary guidelines, just an ounce of almonds contributes to 1\/8th of a person’s daily protein intake!<\/strong><\/p>If you want a gluten free option, you can omit the oats. I know there are certified gluten free oats, but they are hard to find and can be pricey. - Dates – 1 cup\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>
- Raw almonds – 1\/2 cup\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>
- Cacao nibs – 2tbsp\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>
- Oats – 1\/2 cup\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>
- Sea salt – 1\/8 tsp<\/strong><\/li>
- Honey – 1 tsp\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>
- Coconut shavings – As needed for rolling date balls in the shavings after they set\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
Procedures <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t
Remove pits from dates. Put dates in a mixing bowl. Add hot water on top of dates to rehydrate them. Let dates sit in hot water for about 10-15 minutes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>Drain dates.<\/strong><\/p>In a food processor, add dates, oats, cacao nibs, oats, salt, and honey. Process until it become a sticky mixture, almost like dough.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>Take the mixture and form them into balls.
